In the historic Csenger Jewish community, seven rabbis shed the light of the Torah, preserved by tradition like the seven sacred candles of the menorah. All seven branches shone brightly, but perhaps the brightest of them all was the central branch, that of the Csenger community’s fourth rabbi. According to the Hebrew calendar, today, the 5th of Kislev, marks the anniversary of the passing of the author of Menuchet Asher and founder of the renowned Jungreis dynasty.
